Senior AI Engineer, Labs

Labs is where we run focused experiments and prototypes that test ideas quickly. As a Senior AI Engineer in Labs you will lead AI Prototype Sprints, building working systems with language models, retrieval and agents, measuring them properly, and giving clients a clear answer on whether to proceed.

• Lead short, focused prototype sprints from problem to working demonstration.
• Build with language models, retrieval, agents and the surrounding software.
• Design evaluations that show whether a system actually works.
• Be clear about limits, risks and the cost of running in production.
• Hand promising prototypes to delivery teams with what they need to scale.
• Share what Labs learns through internal notes and Vitalos Insights.

• Strong software engineering experience, with Python and at least one other language.
• Hands-on experience building applications with language models.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation and prompt design.
• Experience with a major cloud AI platform.
• The judgement to tell a good demonstration from a dependable system.

• Experience taking AI systems into production.
• Experience with agent frameworks.
• Experience presenting technical findings to non-technical leaders.
